Netherton Foundry Flat Cooking Iron Press

A flat black iron press for weighing down ingredients in the pan or barbecue.

---DETAILS---

This traditional, heavy-duty cooking iron is made from cast black iron—as such, it’s heavy and excellent at retaining heat. Set it atop meat, vegetables, or sandwiches on the hob or grill to guarantee a strong and even sear, as well as a uniformly flat finished product. If you leave it for a little while, it will get hot too, reducing cooking time and ensuring that food browns evenly on both sides. The knob handle is hand-turned oak, and stays cool while the iron gets hot. Pre-seasoned with flax oil for a natural easy-release finish that only gets better over time when properly maintained.
